Senior GIS Specialist / GPS Manager
GAI Consultants
October 2011 to February 2017

In this position my time was divided between GIS mapping for permitting of natural gas and electricity transmission projects and managing our inventory of sub-meter GPS equipment. GAI uses Trimble Geo 7x and 6000 units for environmental and cultural resource field teams for Stream and Wetland, RTE and Invasive Species surveying of pipeline right-of-way, access roads, and facilities belonging to our client companies in the energy industry. The field data is collected with TerraSync and post- processed in Pathfinder Office software, then developed in ArcGIS to create mapping for various types of permit applications for the DEP and Army Corps, including General & Joint Permits, WDSIR and ESCGP. The data is also converted and delivered to internal and external clients in GIS, CAD or KML format based on individual need. I am responsible for coordinating the deployment of the equipment to field teams and training new staff on the use of the equipment. I developed a GPS user guide for operating procedures and helped to update our standard geodatabase and data dictionaries based
on input from environmental staff. I also troubleshoot technical issues with the GPS units and create invoices for the billing and tracking of the equipment.

Photogrammetry Technician
Penn DOT
May 2011 to October 2011

3-D planimetric and topographic mapping for transportation infrastructure projects in PA. In this job I used Trimble R8 GPS receivers/ data collectors and digital leveling equipment to create control-point surveys as the basis of the photogrammetric mapping process. The data was processed with Trimble Geomatics software and developed in MicroStation/ISSD. I also gained experience with Leica hardware and software for the collection and development of aerial imagery.

GIS Specialist
Western Land Services
March 2010 to April 2011

At this job I was introduced to upstream side of the oil & gas industry. GIS was used to create a leasehold database for clients working in the Marcellus/Utica shale gas region. This was done using a combination of ArcGIS for spatial analysis, data acquisition and editing and title research at various public offices around Pennsylvania.

Scientific (GIS) Intern
Pennsylvania Game Commission
May 2008 to November 2009

Here I worked directly for the Regional Land Manager to aid in the development of comprehensive management plans for State Game Lands in Southwest Pennsylvania. Specific GIS tasks included mapping land use and cover types, soils, public access, infrastructure, parcel boundaries, utility and mineral rights-of-way and leases. The data was compiled from aerial photography, infrared imagery analysis and field surveying with Trimble GPS equipment. I also worked with many professionals from different fields including law enforcement, forestry, biology and education to help develop the Game Commissions GIS database of State Game Land infrastructure and resources.

Graduate Assistant
IMAPS - Indiana, PA
January 2009 to August 2009

Working at the Institute for Mine Mapping Acquisition, Procedures and Safety (IMAPS) Project I helped to develop a digital inventory of coal mine maps for the Pennsylvania DEP using Microsoft Access and ArcGIS Desktop programs.
