Geospatial Analyst

Quantum Spatial is actively recruiting a Geospatial Analyst who possesses sound expertise in geospatial technologies and analytic methodologies in applications of national security. Work locations will be performed onsite at one of two DHS client secure facilities within Arlington, VA (Crystal City or Rosslyn) – National Capital Region. The analyst must be self-motivated with exceptional planning, critical thinking, analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities and Duties:
This Geospatial Analyst position requires an in-depth knowledge of industry leading Geospatial tools including the ESRI desktop tool set. The Geospatial Analyst, by virtue of the position, may be required to provide surge support during critical incidents affecting the Nation’s security. The successful candidate will provide a broad range of Geospatial Support functions (at one of two government client locations in the DC area) such as:

• Respond to various requirements for geospatial products and services
• Support contingency incidents or special events
• Create critical infrastructure - and resiliency-focused geospatial analytics and products
• Create maps or visualization output focused on critical infrastructure and cyber information for hazards, such as natural disasters, terrorist threats and attacks, chemical spills, radiological events, Special Security Events (SSE), bombing prevention, security analysis and reporting, and other cyber and infrastructure projects and programs.
• Provide geospatial support to troubleshoot issues with ArcGIS software
• Provide geospatial support to clean, format, and analyze issues with geospatial data

Minimum Qualifications:
• Degree Requirements: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major work in geography, engineering, planning, computer science or a related field
• 5 years of experience with desktop GIS software (i.e. Esri ArcGIS Pro, Esri ArcMap)
• Strong cartographic skills and visual interpretation of data
• Ability to interpret and explain geospatial products to DHS leadership
• Understanding of visualization tools such as ESRI-based web interfaces and Google Earth
• Understanding of ESRI Geodatabases and OGC service standards for geospatial data
• Strong communications skills, both verbal and written
• U.S. Citizenship to comply with federal contract requirements
• Ability to obtain Secret security clearance

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
• Existing active DHS and/or NPPD Entry on Duty (EOD) suitability
