GIS Analyst: Technical position performing progressively broad GIS assignments. Assists and supports GIS professionals with larger and more complex GIS projects. Primarily supports the following customer group(s); Utilities.
Create, update and maintain GIS data
Utilize work order management technologies and processes to ensure effective GIS service delivery
Develop and maintain skills as necessary to keep current with GIS technology and professional best practices
Apply knowledge of GIS theory/concepts to propose and develop GIS solutions addressing customer needs
Present status updates to senior staff
Document all processes used in maintaining data or regularly scheduled projects
Provide input for GIS layer creation and maintenance processes
Perform GIS analysis utilizing a combination of spatial and tabular data
Create maps using county standard templates and best practices for cartography and labeling

Minimum of 5 years of documented and proven GIS experience. OR
2-Year Degree in related field and 3 year of documented and proven GIS experience. OR
Bachelorís Degree (4-Year) in geography, geomatics, GIS or related field and 1 year of documented and proven GIS experience. OR
Masterís Degree (2-Year) in geography, geomatics, GIS or related field.
Preferred Qualifications: Proficient in updating and maintaining GIS data layers using versioning in a SDE database.
Job Based Competencies: Proficiently operate a Windows computer and large format plotter.
Work Schedule: This position is deemed essential during manmade and natural emergencies. Must be available to work in the Emergency Operation Center (EOC) before and during an emergency activation.
