Throughout my degree I have taken classes such as, Mapping the World, Physical Geography, GIS Foundations 1 and 2, Community and Global Analysis and Community Design and Spaces of Human Development.

Substitute Teacher, Hesperia, California
November 2017- Present
Whilst completing further job applications in my degree area I have begun substitute teaching. This experience has allowed me to widen my work experience and fine-tune my project management and leadership skills.
Planning and Development Intern, City of Flagstaff, Economic Development Department, Arizona
August 2016 - May 2017
In my final year of study, I interned with the City of Flagstaff, working within the economic development. My main project was to design and implement a map of public art for the city. This required strong software skills as well as an in-depth knowledge of the city’s future development plans, outlined within their 30-year plan. Additionally, I collaborated with other departments, such as the economic vitality division, to integrate and bring together ideas. The project included the development of an app that will allow the map to be used by a wider audience and incorporate digital and social aspects. Alongside my main project I was also involved with assisting staff in preparation for both internal and external meetings, researching public opinion and analyzing a range of data with key findings that helped inform planning and development. Overall, this internship has allowed me to grow my practical knowledge of urban planning and GIS, and mature my business and economic understanding.
Part-Time Delivery Driver, Rent-A-Center, Flagstaff, Arizona— 2016
I worked as part of a team to deliver furniture and household appliances to customers. This required safe and efficient driving, handling of products, and face-to-face consumer interaction. This experience allowed me to gain a better understanding of how to deal with customers in difficult situations and further developed my problem-solving skills.
Warehouse Associate, Amazon Fulfilment Centre, California — 2015
I worked within Amazon’s fulfilment centre. As part of my responsibilities I performed various duties such as building and wrapping pallets, using scanners, and applying labels to packages. I also received incoming packages and sorted them for sending them to their respective lines. Working in such a high volume distribution centre helped me to better understand the behind-the-scenes demand of large consumer goods businesses, and how they are able to coordinate themselves through teamwork and delegation.
Warehouse Associate, CEVA Logistics, California — 2012-2013
Worked on the line at CEVA’s Microsoft distribution centre during peak seasonal hours. Frequently worked overtime. Unpacked and repackaged merchandise for delivery. Working in a busy warehouse during high season made me better equipped to work efficiently under pressure and towards a deadline, these are transferable skills I have found invaluable in other job positions.
