GIS / IT MANAGER

Downtown Business Improvement District (BID) is currently recruiting for a GIS / IT Manager to lead the development, implementation, and management of technology solutions. Reporting to the Director of Administration, the manager will work with senior leadership to incorporate technology into the BID’s strategy and operations.

The GIS / IT Manager will manage all IT and GIS systems in the BID and serve as a point of contact for both internal staff members and external stakeholders. The position will also include hands-on technical work to supplement services provided by vendors and vendor management.

The Downtown BID utilizes technology as a key tool to support the internal operations of the organization. Primary systems include SharePoint, Salesforce, and ArcGIS, in a mixed Windows / Mac environment. Marketing Communications technologies such as social media, website, and email marketing are also vital, though this position is not directly responsible for them.

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
•Managing over 25 BID IT accounts worth over $220k Annually
•Managing the BID’s instance of ESRI ArcGIS
•Provide daily support to our Public Space Operations Department
•Create maps and perform GIS related tasks
•IT improvement Projects

Qualifications
•Minimum three years full-time work experience in related technical field or in non-profit or research setting required.
•Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer science, geographic information systems or other related field required; relevant work experience may be partially substituted for education.
•Requires strong analytical and organizational skills, creativity, flexibility, and demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and bring projects to timely completion. Attention to detail, including fact-checking and basic proofreading, is essential.
•Clear written communication skills required to document, research, and prepare reports, letters, and supporting materials. Ability to communicate with all staff members including operations. Able to communicate with external vendors and stakeholders on technical terms.
•Requires computer proficiency, including advanced capabilities in geographic information systems software (ESRI ArcGIS 10, ArcGIS Online) and proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneDrive, SharePoint, Access), web applications, mobile applications, database management systems and networking systems.
•Ability to provide technical support and a commitment to continuous learning.
•Familiarity with Downtown DC a plus.
