o This project focused on creating a network of sidewalks intersecting one another with bus stops on the southeast portion of Western Kentucky University’s main campus. It involved digitizing the sidewalks on the southeast portion of campus, highlighting whether the routes are handicapped accessible or not, and the distance from buildings on campus.
GISC 423: Geoprocessing & GIS Apps
· Service Area Analysis of Fire Station Response Performance in Warren County, KY
o Network Analyst tools in ArcGIS Pro were utilized to create a service area analysis layer of volunteer and professional fire stations in Warren County, KY.
· Geospatial Analysis of Population Change and Distribution in the Knoxville-Morristown-Sevierville, TN Combined Statistical Area (CSA) from 2000 to 2010
o Navigated the Census website to find population data for 2000 and 2010, merged data with fellow students to create a study area, and created a set of maps to show the spatial distribution of the population by age group and by ethnicity.
· Site Selection for a New Professional Fire Station in Warren County, KY
o This project focuses on conducting a land suitability analysis and selecting a site that is most favorable for a new professional fire station in Warren County, KY using service area parameters from the Service Area Analysis of Fire Station Response Times project.
