Two vegetation studies were observed in the backwaters of the Mississippi River. Fieldwork consisted of soil sampling, surveying, and recording with Satellite Imagery and a GPS Trimble Unit. The first study was based on vegetation identification in relation to aerial photographs and GPS location. The second was performed at the Upper Mississippi Science Center. For this study, vegetation was grown in different environments and progress was recorded. Assisted in chemistry lab duties.
