AFHC-11879 - Geospatial Analyst (Intermediate)
This position will support the Forest Service's Watershed Condition Classification project. The candidate will interact with the government's Watersheds Team to determine the best datasets and attributes that will inform users of the health of watersheds within the Forest Service area of interest. Visualization of the data in an ArcGIS PRO project will be required as will the development of geoprocessing tools that will objectively generate the health of watersheds using a three-class system. All algorithms for tools will be approved by and in consultation with the Watersheds team. Documentation of all tools as well as creation of metadata for datasets are also required.
A BS in Geography or related sciences is required.
The following experience is required:
•Creating models in either ModelBuilder or with Python
•Candidate must be able to work well independently
•Excellent communication skills
The following experience is desired:
•Enterpise Geodatabase Development
•Web App Development via ArcGIS Online
•Creating and delivering end-user training.
•Have had a previous public trust clearance through either the Forest Service or another service within the USDA.
