Geographical Information System (GIS) Manager

Plans, coordinates, and oversees the Geographic Information System (GIS) function of the County; evaluates and participates in the functions necessary to create, maintain and use GIS databases and applications; applies an advanced knowledge of GIS and the principles of geography, cartography and geo-spatial analysis to provide staff, county departments and the public with access to computerized information; ensures that the County is effectively utilizing GIS technology by coordinating and integrating the necessary data for the use of various County departments; and performs related duties as required.


Four (4) years of increasingly responsible professional experience in the design, development, implementation and administration of geographic information systems.

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in geographic information systems, computer science, geography, public or business administration, or a related field.

Possession of, or ability to obtain by date of appointment, an appropriate valid California Class ĎCí driverís license.
