GIS Analyst or Advanced GIS Analyst

BGMU is accepting applications for Advanced GIS Analyst, or GIS Analyst, or GIS Technician (contingent on successful applicant's qualifications). The position will support the GIS Administrator in the maintenance and use of the GIS database in support of BGMUís business activities in the operation and maintenance of water and wastewater facilities and in providing superior customer support. The position does not require Warren County, KY residency. Essential duties include:
*Assist GIS Administrator, Project Managers and Engineering Superintendent in development of field and/or office engineering data to support projects.
*Analyze data and make recommendations in its use / application.
*Assist in development of GIS and related policies and standard operating procedures.
*Perform daily GIS system maintenance tasks.
*Perform GIS data entry and database development tasks.
*Produce maps as required.
*Collect and edit water and wastewater system GIS data.
*Respond to support requests from BGMU crew personnel, private contractors, developers, and BGMU customers.
*Enter water and wastewater work order system data.
*Maintain accurate records and prepare reports.
*Use GPS survey tools.
*Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook software programs, as well as a high level of knowledge of the principles of Geographical Information Systems including its uses and applications.
*Practical experience in ESRI/ArcGIS software; additional experience with GIS-based mapping software (e.g. AutoCAD/AutoDesk, MapInfo, QGIS) is preferred.
*Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in the course of work at all levels, with a focus on quality service to internal and external customers
*GIS database management experience including: error troubleshooting and correction; data conversion; use of Python, SQL, Arcade (or other query language in broad use)
*Demonstrated proficiency using GIS-related equipment including plotters, scanners, and GPS equipment
*Experience working with an Enterprise versioned geodatabase system.
For Advanced GIS Analyst: Bachelorís Degree in one of the following: Geographic Information Systems, Geography, City and Regional Planning, Computer Science or Engineering. GIS Certificate from an approved undergraduate GIS program. Four (4) years of practical work experience in GIS environment.
For GIS Analyst: Bachelorís Degree in one of the following: Geographic Information Systems, Geography, City and Regional Planning, Computer Science or Engineering. GIS Certificate from an approved undergraduate GIS program. Two (2) years of practical work experience in GIS environment.
For GIS Technician: High school degree or graduate equivalency. 24 hours of college coursework, working towards degree in Geographic Information Science, Geography, City and Regional Planning, Computer Science, or Engineering.
For Advanced GIS Analyst: GISP certification (Certified GIS Professional)
For GIS Analyst: Successful completion of the GISCI Geospatial Core Technical Knowledge Exam in pursuit of GISP certification.
For GIS Technician: Bachelorís Degree in one of the following: Geographic Information Systems, Geography, City and Regional Planning, Computer Science or Engineering. GIS Certificate from an approved undergraduate GIS program.
Preference also given to candidates demonstrating experience with ArcPro, AGOL/Portal, Collector, Survey123, and other field applications.
