Our Geospatial and Information Management practice is committed to design excellence and innovation. We are looking for a passionate and motivated Developer with practical experience, an eye for effective visual communication and the ability to juggle multiple projects and deadlines. Our work environment is fast paced, exciting and team oriented. This position is within the Colorado Geospatial and Information Management team and part of a tight-knit team of 20 developers across the country who work together to build creative and responsive applications. Exceptional communications skills are essential for this role; specifically the ability to manage tasks across office and time zones for a multitude of internal and external clients.

Primary Responsibilities
HDR is looking for an Application Developer with GIS experience, driven by innovation and a desire to make a difference, to join our growing and nationally ranked team of professionals in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We are seeking clever, dedicated developers who enjoy what they do, like working with teams, and searching for new ideas; someone who can appropriately apply technology to solve problems and provide services to our clients.

Duties include working in a professional environment with a national team of developers, geospatial analysts, engineers, scientists, business analysts, and planners. The ability to effectively lead and participate in remote teams with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, both technical and non-technical, is required. Successful candidates will be able to lead development projects, plan and design solutions, develop database schemas and analysis methods needed to support project goals. Our projects include solutions for desktop, web, and mobile.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelors in Geography, Geospatial Science, Computer Science, Planning, Environmental Sciences, or relevant field
• 5+ years practical web and/or GIS development experience

Preferred Qualifications – experience with a few of the following is a plus:
• JavaScript (including ES6), HTML, and CSS(SASS/LESS)
• Responsive web design and UI frameworks (Bootstrap, Foundation, etc.)
• Native mobile application development (Swift/Obj-C, Esri Runtime SDK)
• JavaScript frameworks (Ember, React, etc.)
• Experience with server-side technologies (.NET , NodeJS, etc.)
• RESTful web services
• Cloud computing
• Unit testing and continuous integration and deployment
• Esri (ArcGIS Server/Enterprise (10.4+), Portal for ArcGIS, ArcGIS Online
• Development and Management
• Publishing web or feature services
• Creating SDE enabled databases
• Esri Javascript API
• Open source web mapping tools (Leaflet, Mapbox, Carto, etc.)
· Experience with SharePoint a plus
· Government clearance a plus
