Geospatial Coordinator
The City of Johnson City, Tennessee is seeking a Geospatial Coordinator for our Water/Sewer department. This is a senior technical and supervisory position, intended for coordinating geospatial activities of all employees within a single department. The Geospatial Coordinator offers experience, leadership and guidance to geospatial and non-technical staff, detailed familiarity with departmental geodata, and advanced analytical capabilities. Primary accountability and reporting are to the Water/Sewer Director, Assistant Director, or their designee. All geospatial positions also include a shared/dual accountability to the Geospatial Manager within the Department of Information Technology for purposes of maintaining data integrity, database security, and a consistent and coordinated approach to geospatial information and products across the organization.

Acceptable Experience, Training, Certifications and Licenses:
Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Geography/GIS, Engineering or related discipline and minimum 1-3 years’ experience in GIS project, development, and maintenance. Applicant should have GISP or other relevant professional certification. Experience with Esri products including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online/Portal and mobile applications (Collector, Field Maps, Survey123). Experience and knowledge of GPS data collection methods. Knowledge and ability to automate GIS workflows using Python and SQL.
