GIS Analyst

At Syringa Networks, our GIS Analyst is responsible for maintaining a GIS database of outside plant telecommunication features, creating maps, customizing GIS applications, and manipulating data to serve a variety of purposes. Essential Job Functions:
Design or prepare graphic representations of data using Esri ArcGIS and other GIS software, according to RUS (Rural Utility Services) standards
Import data collected from field operations into GIS databases
Analyze GIS data to identify spatial relationships and display results of analyses, using maps, graphs, or tabular data
Maintain or modify existing GIS databases
Perform complex drafting work under minimum supervision
Provide technical support within the company to users regarding the maintenance, development, or operation of GIS databases, equipment, or applications
Develop and maintain mobile mapping applications
Give continuing and meticulous attention to detail
Experience and Education:
Minimum Qualifications:
One year of experience in GIS database/mapping minimum
Experience with Esri ArcGIS software including ArcGIS Desktop, ArcPro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Enterprise, Model Builder, and field apps such as Survey123 and Field Maps
Ability to collect, analyze and summarize GIS data
Basic knowledge of cartographic design
Ability to georeference and geocode data
Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Exposure to the telecommunications industry
Good written and oral communication skills
Organization and time management skills
Python scripting preferred

Education
S. or B.A. in Geography, Cartography, GIS or closely related field
