The Rutland Regional Planning Commission (RRPC) is an accomplished and award-winning regional planning and economic development organization with a talented staff and supportive Board of Commissioners, serving 27 Rutland Region towns. Regional Planning Commissions are political subdivisions of the State of Vermont, created by member municipalities, and serve as the go-to resource for towns linking municipal affairs and state government.

The RRPC is seeking an energetic and outgoing GIS planner to join our professional team. The full-time position will be responsible for GIS mapping and analysis, data collection and management, and more. The position will provide support to several planning program areas such as energy, emergency management, transportation, and water quality. Planning work will include coordinating public hearings, facilitating committees, grant writing, and technical assistance. Candidates must be well-organized initiative takers that can work both independently and collaboratively with excellent communication, interpersonal, and management skills.

Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro and Online is required. A degree or experience in transportation or land use planning, environmental studies or policy, public administration, or a related field is preferred. A master’s degree or AICP certification is a plus. Position requires a reliable vehicle and attendance at night meetings.
