Associate Geospatial Analyst

Compensation: $83,546.00 per year

HOURS OF WORK: 4/10ís, M-Th, 7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The ideal candidate for this position would be proficient in the use of Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) software utilized in mapping and imagery analysis as well as Python scripting or another language for process automation in ESRI and remote sensing software; have experience using ERDAS Imagine, ENVI, or other Remote Sensing software for imagery processing and analysis; possess familiarity with spatial statistical analysis tools, relational databases, and LiDAR or other elevation data; exhibit the ability to work in a team-centric environment under tight deadlines as well as to adjust to changing priorities in the work environment; possess the ability to effectively communicate with customers to determine their product needs; and demonstrate proficiency in using MS Office.

INTRODUCTION: Human Resources will screen applications and supplemental questionnaires. Candidates possessing the strongest skills and experience for this position will be forwarded to the hiring department for further evaluation and to determine who will be invited to the formal interview process.The candidate hired will be required to pass a
drug screening, background check, and may be required to pass a job-related physical evaluation.

Under general supervision, performs difficult and responsible professional duties in support of District/SNWA GIS,remote sensing and related systems capabilities; utilizes applicable software, hardware, tools and utilities to analyze and perform database quality assurance processes; produces standard maps, data displays, analyses and other
products; and performs related duties as assigned.

Training and Experience:
A typical way of obtaining the knowledge, skills and abilities outlined above is graduation from a four-year college or university with a bachelorís degree in geography, natural sciences, photogrammetry, GIS, geospatial sciences, remote sensing, civil engineering, computer science or a related field; and two years of increasingly responsible experience in the uses of geographical information, remote sensing or other related systems; or an equivalent combination of training and experience.

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:
A valid Nevada driverís license and the ability to maintain insurability under the Districtís Vehicle Insurance Policy.
