GIS Application Developer

The Senior GIS Application Developer is responsible for developing and maintaining a variety of custom applications and interfaces related to GIS and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) throughout the development lifecycle. This position works with staff throughout the City to understand business processes, assess needs, and define project scope. The position is responsible for identifying software development solutions; writing, testing, and deploying code; supporting users of the finished products, and administering GIS application servers. Knowledge of C# & JavaScript programming, .NET framework, and experience with Esri's GIS technology, including Enterprise ArcGIS Server, is required. The preferred candidate will also have knowledge and experience with SQL scripting, web services, mobile app development for Android and/or iOS, Windows Server, and IIS. This position reports to the GIS and Special Projects Manager, but will often lead projects requiring advanced technical and strong interpersonal skills. The City of Greensboro is a progressive organization with a strong focus on technology. The Information Technology Department's GIS and Special Projects division is responsible for managing and administering the City's geospatial (GIS) and asset management (EAM) enterprise systems as well as developing and supporting mobile applications. These systems and applications are utilized across the organization and by the general public. Both the City's GIS and EAM environments are maintained using Microsoft SQL Server 2014. GIS utilizes Esri's Enterprise ArcGIS Server v.10.5 platform. Asset management utilizes Infor's EAM v11 platform.
