GIS Software Developer
Job Description:
VESTRA Resources Inc. is seeking candidates for a Software Developer with GIS experience. Duties include developing both windows and web applications for various clients. Job Requirements:
Candidates must possess:
· B.A./B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent
· A minimum of three years of applicable industry experience; consulting field experience preferred.
· GIS development experience using Esri’s suite of products.
· Any combination of equivalent education and experience will be considered.
Ideal candidates will have the following skills and experience:
· Proficiency in VB.Net, C#.Net, ASP.Net, and Silverlight
· .Net development experience using VS 2008 and VS 2010
· Proficiency in developing windows and web applications and services
· Familiarity and experience with Esri ArcGIS Server, Desktop products, and development environments is required
· Experience analyzing needs, developing project design and scope, and project management
· Knowledge of the SDLC
· Proficient with relational databases (e.g. SQL Server and Oracle)
· Experience with Python a plus
· IT administration skills, including hardware and software configuration and installation, server management and networks
· Excellent communication skills (oral and written), a desire to interact with a team, clients, and agency staff; great all-around people skills
· Good organizational skills, ability to thrive in a fast paced, high-pressure, challenging work environment
· Excellent at problem solving, and ability to think outside of the box; genuinely excited and enthusiastic about learning and pushing technical limits and finding new solutions
